Every great business has a moment of courage at its heart. For Evolved HR, that moment came when founder Suzanne Cullen made a bold decision: take voluntary redundancy from a corporate career, and plough every penny of it into building something she truly believed in. No safety net. No half measures. Just a clear vision, a wealth of HR expertise, and the drive to make it happen.
The timing could not have been more personal. With two young children under eight at home, Suzanne needed more than just a business; she needed one that worked around real life. And that's exactly what she built. Evolved HR was designed from day one to be flexible, responsive, and human, values that still sit at the very core of everything we do.
The first retained client came on board in December 2016. They are still with us today. That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident; it's the result of consistent, honest, and genuinely helpful support, year after year. It's something we're incredibly proud of, and it set the tone for every client relationship that followed.
For a time, Suzanne kept the business deliberately steady, not through lack of ambition, but through wisdom. A manageable, high-quality client base meant every business received the attention it deserved, and Suzanne could maintain the work-life balance that mattered to her family. It was never about being the biggest. It was always about being the best.
Then something wonderful happened; growth came naturally. Word spread. Clients referred other clients. Partners recommended Evolved HR to businesses they trusted. And as demand grew, so did the team.
Today, Evolved HR is supported by a team of four, each one carefully chosen not just for their expertise, but for the values they bring. Together, they provide the continuity, depth, and energy that allows Evolved HR to keep growing, without ever losing the personal touch that made it special in the first place.
